SDCC’s Winter Chili Cook-Off

We Need Chili!!
Sunday, December 6th

This annual North Park event by the San Diego Ceramic Connection not only serves as a fundraiser for McKinley’s ceramic classes for all students, but is a great way to mix with the community and enjoy some delicious chili!  The 3-day event culminates in a chili and baked goods contest on Sunday, December 6th from 12 – 5pm.  Last year McKinley families donated over 20 crock pots of chili to the event.

If you want to be part of the chili competition, drop off your chili or baked good by 11:30am on Sunday (see chili categories below). A free SDCC t-shirt with every entry! If you just want to contribute to the fundraiser, bring in a crock pot of chili or a baked good anytime from 1-4pm as the event can always use fresh chili or baked goods. Or just stop by during the chili cook-off and purchase a hand-made bowl, then fill it with any of the over 30 kinds of chili. Large bowls $10, small bowls $7.  Vote for your favorite!  There’s also an drawing every hour for prizes.  And remember, 50% of the proceeds from chili bowl sales will be donated to the McKinley Elementary School Art Fund.
