I just realized it's been fifty years sense I graduated from McKinley. I have allot of good memories. I now live in Washington state, from the pictures and the history section of this web site it looks like everything has changed. I drove by about 15 years ago (the last time in San Diego) and saw the old 2 story brick building was torn down and I think the lunch bowl was missing. I'm assuming the sixth grade classroom and the room we stored our sack lunches in (a two room wood building next to the bowl) was also long gone. There use to be a small grove of eucalyptus trees in the south west corner behind the bowl which provide shade, but I think that is also missing. The last big land mark was Starrets candy store on the south side of the campus, it looked like it had been converted into a private home. You have a great looking school and by this web site I can tell you have allot of parents who care. You all should all be very proud as I am.
