McKinley Adventure Camp/Max and Jake’s Big Race: On February 6th McKinley Adventure Camp will be doing a trial run of the trail walk/run at 9am, see flyer for details. On February 28th in Mission Trails Park, McKinley families will gather in support of one of our Kindergarteners, who survived heart surgery by participating in this amazing trail run/walk to raise money for Rady’s Children’s Hospital. Quilt: Using Lotteria fabric, Pat Taylor, our volunteer book club coordinator made a Cuddle Quilt this summer to benefit the McKinley Art and Music programs. It has been in the library since before Christmas but has since been taken down. So far, the raffle tickets ( 6 for $5.00 and l for $1.00) have raised nearly $250.00. The quilt is the perfect size to snuggle under while you watch TV or read! The winning ticket will be drawn on Wed., Feb. 3rd TODAY. The tickets are available in the library and Mrs. Cervantes will be happy to sell you several raffle tickets.
A big thank you to Jon Rogers, for coordinating an amazing effort to complete the Octopus mural in the school garden. He did an outstanding job to make this happen. Make sure to go see this wonderful masterpiece. Also thanks to Santos, Lefty’s, Home Depot, Bread & Cie Cafe, Big City Bagels, Park Place Screen & Glass, City Deli, and Mazzara’s for donating food and coffee to our mural volunteers! Special thank you to tile donors : Karen Kenyon, Sicilian Thing Pizza, and North Park Community Pre-School.
