Thanks to the efforts of the San Diego Rotary Club 33, and the help of parents Jon Rogers and Steve Cook, the McKinley garden now has several tables and benches so teachers can conduct classes in the garden.  Visit the garden to see them for yourself or keep up-to-date with the garden projects on this website at: Ongoing History.

The California Department of Education (CDE) created a website to help parents gain a clearer understanding of the STAR Program.  The website is located at http://www.starsamplequestions.org/.  This is a great resource for anyone who want more information about STAR.

4th Annual Max and Jake’s Big Race
Sunday February 27th, 2011

Come be a part of this heart-saving event!

Max and Jake’s Big Race is a fun-filled community event that’s great for the whole family, and again, we are hoping for a strong showing from McKinley families. Last year, we had 47 people participate and raised $2430 from our McKinley community. This year, we hope to top that – and with your support, it is very possible.

With that, we’d like to ask your help in making our 4th Annual Max and Jake’s Big Race a success. There are 2 ways you can help:

1) Join the McKinley Racers and participate in the race on February 27, 2011. It’s a family-oriented 5k/1mi trail run (or walk) at Mission Trails Park. There will be live music and fun for the whole family. Be sure to bring your family and friends – and don’t forget, you can ask them to sponsor you as well.

2) Make a donation to the race fund – and help us beat last year’s total. All donations are tax deductible and directly benefit Rady Children’s Hospital Heart Institute.
