Description: This committee will setup a user friendly and professional looking website in order to inform parents, teachers and community members about McKinley Elementary. We will develop a system of regular communication via email that will include email blasts and newsletters. We will keep this information up to date in order to create a hub of information for all happenings at the school from special events and fundraisers to the day to day schedule of the school.
Committee Goals: To consolidate and improve communication to parents, teachers/staff, and community members via an up-to-date website, monthly newsletters and email blasts. To work with the various PTC committees to assist with the promotion of events and fundraisers via the PTC website.
Committee Member Commitment: There will be no regularly scheduled meetings, but potentially weekly updates of information to be added to the website and/or newsletters. We will arrange for one committee member to attend the monthly PTC meeting to share information with other committee members.
Communication and Technology Committee Opportunities: We are looking for a computer savy volunteer(s) to work on our monthly email newsletter. This will include gathering information from other PTC committees, writing up articles and inserting this information into a newsletter template. We will also need an individual to work with the special events committees in order to build a page for each of the major fundraisers (ie. carnival, jog-a-thon, etc.).
