Fun optional dress-up days this week (June 14-18):
Monday – mismatch day, wear clothes that don’t match
Tuesday – twin day, dress the same as your friends
Wednesday – crazy hair day, do silly things with your hair
Thursday – PJ day, wear your pajamas to school, (but wear shoes)
Friday- sports day, Padres, Chargers, Little League, Pop Warner, whatever!

If you haven’t voted for a chance to win $25,000.00 for our Learning Garden from Nature’s Path, we still need your vote. Thanks to our awesome community, we are in 2nd place. But the voted has been extended to June 15th, so to keep in the running we need to continue spreading the word. Let your family friends, neighbors and co-workers know that we need their vote! McKinley Elementary’s garden is entered in a contest to receive a grant worth $25,000! This will help our students learn to grow organic food.  We have until June 15th to get votes.  Nature’s Path company will pick two of the top five vote-getters to receive the grant through Justmeans.

McKinley Staff Appreciation Potluck This Friday the 21st

We will have a Parent Provided Potluck for our entire rockin’ McKinley Staff.  Please contribute!  Dessert is being provided so we need main courses, salads, and drinks to honor our teachers and classified staff starting at 11:20 in the lounge. Also, check out the Staff Appreciation “Wish Tree” in the office. Teachers are hanging their “wishes” on the tree so that parents can help provide items for our kids in the classroom. Supplies are being presented this week directly to the teacher or at the Parent Potluck on Friday. Ask your Room Parent how you can contribute to fill your student’s needs.
